DCA recently participated in the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) Annual Meeting and EXPO in West Palm Beach, Florida. Several CGA working committees conducted business, including the Stakeholder Advocacy Committee’s Materials Development Task Team, which DCA chairs. Other events included the annual CGA breakfast, followed by a meeting of the board of directors. The week concluded with a public workshop hosted by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) on the impacts of exemptions afforded to certain stakeholders from responsibilities related to the damage prevention process. PHMSA is in the process of collecting data on such exemptions, and wanted to hear firsthand from the stakeholders themselves. DCA thanks PHMSA for organizing this event and we look forward to continue the dialogue on this important issue.
