The Distribution Contractors Association, headquartered just outside of Dallas, is a member-centered association. Our members participate in a variety of committees and annual activities that ultimately benefit the entire industry. Our members look to the association as an advocate for safety, a venue for networking and a voice in labor relations.
The domain of DCA's Contractor members is within city gates, where the final link for pipeline, cable and duct systems is made to individual residences and industrial complexes. Contractor members of the DCA are contractors who provide specific distribution construction services, including fiber optic, cable and duct installation, and the installation, replacement and rehabilitation of gas pipelines. Associate members are equipment suppliers and service providers who serve the professional contractors that comprise our contractor membership. Industry members are individuals who are regularly employed as consultants, employees, officers, directors or elected officials of any corporation or governmental unit engaged in the distribution industry.
The association stages five major events annually, the Annual Convention in February, the Safety Congress and DCA & AGA Utility Contractor Workshop in April, the Mid Year Meeting in July and the Fall Meeting in October/November. Members gather at these events to network, learn and discuss and plan the future of the association. We also offer a session at the UCT conference in January each year and in conjunction with that conference offer safety directors the opportunity to exchange ideas and information at our Safety Congress.
Membership in the DCA serves as evidence of a distribution contractor's commitment to quality, cost-effective, safe construction goals. Our members promote and abide by the highest standards in the industry.
Through its annual convention, mid-year meeting, multiple publications and Web site, DCA keeps members up-to-date on safety issues, labor relations and technological advancements. In addition, DCA members provide expert testimony to regulatory agencies, government organizations and consumer groups on the nature of the distribution construction industry.
